From the National
Director…

February 21, 2007
Ash Wednesday
Dear MMP Family,
Fr. Gobbi has asked, with particular
insistence, that his annual letter for 2007 be shared with all MMP members so
that it can be read and well meditated upon by all. Those of you on our mailing
list will be receiving a packet which includes his letter both in English and
Spanish, as well as my accompanying letter which follows. I am posting them here
on our website for the benefit of those who have not officially registered as
members or who have not sent us their changes of address, and thus will not be
receiving a copy by mail.

Our Lady of Lourdes
(...)
[Fr. Gobbi’s] theme for this year is “The Glory of Mary.” He
writes, “The task that has been entrusted to the Marian Movement of Priests,
in this time of the purification and the great tribulation, is that of
proclaiming THE GLORY OF MARY to the Church and to all humanity.”
He quotes extensively from Our Lady’s message of February 2, 1988, in which she
tells us:
“These are the times of your full manifestation. The
days of your public testimony have arrived. Show yourselves to all as little
children consecrated to me and as great apostles of your heavenly Mother, in
these last times. The hour has come when I want to be glorified in you before
all the Church and the world.” (372b)
And in her final public message to Fr. Gobbi, given on December 31, 1997, she
says:
“The moment has come for you to come out from your
hiddenness in order to go and shed light upon the earth.
u Show yourselves to all as my children, for I am with you always. Let the faith
be the light which enlightens you in these days of darkness, and let zeal alone
consume you, zeal for the honor and glory of my Son Jesus.” (604 t-u)
Clearly then, as apostles of these last times, to us is entrusted the task of
making her known to everyone – by spreading her messages, but also by showing
ourselves to others as living examples of the Gospel in imitation of her Son
Jesus. This special mission which has been entrusted to her little cohort –
that of “introducing” her to others whom we meet – is so very important, because
she tells us that it is ONLY when she is recognized and acknowledged in all her
glory that she will be able to FULLY unleash her great power. This will lead to
the Triumph of her Immaculate Heart, the Second Coming of Jesus and the
definitive defeat of Satan.
“If you do what I ask of you, devotion to me will
spread more and more, and then I will be able to exercise the great power which
the Most Holy Trinity has granted to me. Thus I will be able to prepare for all
humanity the new era of its complete renovation, in the glorious triumph of my
Son Jesus.” (379i, April 2, 1988)
Ours is such a sublime mission and, with the Rosary and with our total “Yes” to
what the Lord is asking of us as his little co-redeemers, we have in our hands
the “power” to obtain the grace of a change of hearts and to influence “all
human events.”
“The rosary brings you to peace. With this prayer, you
are able to obtain from the Lord the great grace of a change of hearts, of the
conversion of souls, and of the return of all humanity to God, along the road of
repentance, of love, of divine grace and of holiness.
Then you will no longer say: ‘But,
always and everywhere, everything remains just as it was. Nothing ever changes!’
— This is not true, my beloved children. Each day, in silence and in hiddenness,
the heavenly Mother is waging her battle against the Adversary and is working,
by means of most extraordinary signs and manifestations, to change the heart of
the world.” (336no, October 7, 1986)
“…Pray, and do penance. Recite the holy rosary with love and with confidence.
With this prayer, made by you together with me, you are able to influence all
human events, and even the future events which are awaiting you. With this
prayer, you can possess the grace of a change of hearts, and you can obtain the
much-desired gift of peace.” (343d, December 31, 1986)
First and foremost, Our Lady needs our complete surrender so that she can use us
as she needs.
“The time has come when I wish to live in you and to
manifest myself to all through you.
I want to love with your heart, to gaze with your eyes, to console and encourage
with your lips, to assist with your hands, to walk with your feet, to follow
your bloodied footprints and to suffer with your crucified body.” (227q-r, July
1, 1981)
Tell her each morning that you are all hers, “Mary, I give myself to you this
day, as your apostle of these last times. Do with me as you will, for the
honor and glory of God.” Offer all to Jesus through Mary and then, with the
spiritual force given her by her children of light, she will be able to fully
manifest herself in all her power and glory. This triumph of her Immaculate
Heart will pave the way for the Second Coming of Jesus in glory.
By the time this letter reaches you, we will be in the season of Lent. As Fr.
Gobbi so often mentions, we the members of the Marian Movement of Priests and
our families are bearing the weight of tremendous burdens – sufferings of a
physical, emotional, psychological or spiritual nature. Others have financial
difficulties or are victims of natural disasters. During the penitential season
of Lent when we are asked to unite our sufferings to those of Christ, I pray in
a special way that you will experience the joy that comes from carrying your
cross valiantly.
“Indeed, you will know joy even in sorrow; moreover,
you will offer for my joy each of your sufferings, even the smallest. And I will
accept it as a gift which the little child makes to its Mother, and I will
change it immediately into joy for you.
However, the joy that I give you is
deep; it is not superficial; it is peaceful; it never brings agitation. It is
for you, my son, the joy of the cross: the joy of remaining always in my
sorrowful Heart to experience all its indescribable motherly sadness.” (March
23, 1974 #42de)
As we prepare for Easter and anticipate this glorious liturgical celebration of
Christ’s resurrection, let us exult with great joy in the “Triumph of Divine
Mercy.”
“…All humanity exults with greatest joy because, in
Jesus Crucified, dead and risen, it contemplates the triumph of divine mercy…the
moment is close when Christ Risen will manifest Himself in all his power; evil
will be destroyed; Satan will be defeated forever; and then will appear in all
its splendor the triumph of divine mercy over the world.”
(#544b,g, Easter Sunday, April 16, 1995)
Sincerely yours in
Jesus and Mary,

Rev. Albert G. Roux
